I have an IBM 720 and your problem may be that your laptop is using an =
MCA/ESDI hard drive.  I didn't
put too much effort into this machine, but I did get an older version of =
Debian Linux to run on it,=20
and there's a while section for NetBSD to MCA support. I think you have =
to special tailor a kernel
since it's kind of a not-very-used standard. good luck :)

ps. I think it was the debian version right before the current release. =
I had to use an external zip and
about 30 floppies to get it going, but it was fun. I would probably use =
the machine if the PCMCIA driver
didn't cause an eternal loop and thus, make the machine unable to get on =
my network. Send me an email if=20
that's the issue and if you get NetBSD with MCA support to work so I can =
put it on my IBM and use it as=20
more than a footrest.  :)

Steve,
	I have a Zenith 425L laptop with a 160mb hdd and 3.7mb usable RAM. I =
was=20
able to get 1.5.2 installed without too much trouble. After the =
partitions=20
were created, I had to exit the installer and enable the swap. You may =
need=20
to do the same. I used the Tiny-Install and have since trimmed the =
kernel=20
down to about 860k.=20
	I also have a 755Cs ThinkPad. It has 7.7mb usable ram and a 160mb hdd. =
IBM's=20
diagnostic utility gives it a clean bill of health. I can't get =
anything,=20
linux distros included, to install on this machine except win3.11 and =
most=20
3.11 software won't install either. I suspect the reason for this is a =
very=20
old BIOS, maybe the one it was shipped with. IBM's flash utility will =
not=20
execute unless the machine is plugged in and the battery is fully =
charged. My=20
battery is junk and I gave up on the project after far too many hours of =

trying. I've read where others have successfully installed NetBSD on the =
755=20
and other old ThinkPads. What worked for those folks did not work for =
me.=20
Good luck, Todd=20
