I recall where I saw it...(INSTALL.html !)

a    Root partition. (/)
b    Swap partition.
c    The NetBSD portion of the disk.
d    The entire disk.
e-h  Available for other use. Traditionally, e is the partition mounted on
/usr, but this is historical practice and not a fixed value.
