i have a ide question..
i see my diskinterfaces being downgraded from time to time.

Feb 19 09:09:47 127 /netbsd: wd1: soft error (corrected)

it that commen given the use of ATA/66 and ATA/100 ???
is it cause i did disklabel/newfs at ATA/33?
is it cause the
pciide1 at pci0 dev 12 function 0: Promise Ultra100/ATA Bus Master IDE
Accelerator (rev. 0x02)
is it cause the system doens't have anough cpu to work for the ide?
you'd think i didn't place the flatcable correct?

it's not a 'stopper' but i'd like to see them disks fast.
and i don't have ever seen an upgrade message.

btw..sidenote regarding the board..it's a MSI 694D Pro (MS-6321).
it doesn't have a key-lock ((, no extra kb-interface at the board and ..the
Promise soft/firmware does wait on ESC at boot. (anyone knows it's removable?)
so it's hardly a server(?). it does run the smp kernel from december.

thanx for any input on this,
~n
