There is a config.tar.gz in the vicinity of the sys.tar.gz on the FTP, as I
later found out.

BTW, the 20011206-1.5Z snapshot upgrade won't work. I tried both booting the
netbsd.INSTALL off HD and the boot[12].fs floppy set, but after creating /dev,
sysinst would core dump, complaining about lack of space on /. The system in
question is SCSI only, so I haven't been able to try out the smaller install
kernels.
Oh, and "pcn" doesn't work with the integrated AMD PCNet on my Compaq
Prosignia 300. Previous releases have used "le", which has worked fine, but
pcn can't identify the exact version of the PCNic, and then there are device
timouts.
