Hi all!
I have tried installing NetBSD following the normal installation
procedure from the documentation.
Everything seemed to go okay until the reboot. The newly installed
kernel seems to be booting okay.
During the startup process, I get the message "specified device does not
match mounted device" when the system tries to mount / in read-write
mode. I then get a bunch of messages stating that the file system is
read-only.
When I run mount, I get the following:
root_device on / type ffs (local, read-only)
/dev/wd0e on /usr type ffs (local)
kernfs on /kern type kernfs (local)
Obviously, with / already mounted, I'm stuck.
What is this root_device? My fstab has wd0a specified for /. Is there a
know problem?
My disks are 60GB Seagates and the motherboard is a DFI AD70-SR with
onboard Promis RAID controller. There are four disks each as a master on
their own IDE channel. All are recognised at boot-up.
What other details do I need to provide?
Thanks,
Jason.
