G'day,

whilst compiling the current kernel sources the following error
message generated by the compiler:

-Wno-uninitialized -Wno-main -I. -I../../../../arch -I../../../..
-nostdinc -DCRYPTO_MD_DES_ENC -DCRYPTO_MD_BF_ENC -DLKM -DDIAGNOSTIC
-DDEBUG -DIPSEC_DEBUG -DMAXUSERS=32 -D_KERNEL -D_KERNEL_OPT -Di386 -c
../../../../arch/i386/isa/npx.c
/tmp/ccJWlAqU.s: Assembler messages:
/tmp/ccJWlAqU.s:334: Error: no such 386 instruction: `fxsave'
/tmp/ccJWlAqU.s:441: Error: no such 386 instruction: `fxsave'
/tmp/ccJWlAqU.s:481: Error: no such 386 instruction: `fxrstor'
/tmp/ccJWlAqU.s:527: Error: no such 386 instruction: `fxsave'
/tmp/ccJWlAqU.s:626: Error: no such 386 instruction: `fxsave'
*** Error code 1

The kernel configuration file has besides the other CPU options

options I686_CPU

enabled

The system in question consists of a Celeron 466

cpu0: Intel Celeron (Mendocino) (686-class), 467.76 MHz

I fail to see the reason why the code doesn't compile. Any ideas?

cheerio Berndt
