No, I know.

Well, PM was complaining because the size of the last partition
(NetBSD) was too high. I corrected it manually using fdisk. This
worked fine. This is how the disk looks now:
----- cut here -----
NetBSD disklabel disk geometry:
cylinders: 16383 heads: 16 sectors/track: 63 (1008 sectors/cylinder)
BIOS disk geometry:
cylinders: 1023 heads: 255 sectors/track: 63 (16065 sectors/cylinder)
Partition table:
0: sysid 15 (Ext. partition - LBA)
start 16065, size 81931500 (40005 MB), flag 0x0
beg: cylinder 1, head 0, sector 1
end: cylinder 1023, head 254, sector 63
1: sysid 169 (NetBSD)
start 81947565, size 8112825 (3961 MB), flag 0x0
beg: cylinder 1023, head 254, sector 63
end: cylinder 1023, head 254, sector 63
2: sysid 1 (Primary DOS with 12 bit FAT)
start 63, size 16002 (7 MB), flag 0x0
beg: cylinder 0, head 1, sector 1
end: cylinder 0, head 254, sector 63
3: <UNUSED>

However I still have 2 questions:
1. Why does the BIOS always report 1023 as max. cylinder?
2. I cannot resize the extended partition (0:) over the first
partition (2:). For some reason, PM doesn't allow me to move the
extended partition below cylinder 1, while the first partition (and
also all other partitions on other disks I partitionned so far)
always start at cylinder 0.
Have a look at this:

http://www.geohei.lu/pm_after.jpg
I can delete X, move all 3 logical drives inside the xtended
partition to the right, reduce the size of the extended partition
on the left and make Z bigger. Z starts at cylinder 0.
However I cannot delete Z and move the extended partition over Z to
the left. The leftmost cylinder I get with the extended partition
is cylinder 1.
How come?
