You need to add a driver to your kernel that brings in auconv, mulaw,
etc.. try either 'eap' or 'auvia'.

Oh, and if you can come up with a patch for the uvm_extern.h thing, please
pass it on to me -- I don't have a -current kernel on this machine at the
moment.
