If total number of cylinders is n then the last cylinder is n-1.
BIOS disk geometry:
cylinders: 1023 heads: 255 sectors/track: 63 (16065 sectors/cylinder)
correct end: cylinder 1022, head 254, sector 63
Wrong end: cylinder 1023, head 0, sector 0

the NetBSD disklabel will work.
