Thanks to Jasper Wallace, I now know to try the commands
below, and save the [wait ages] part of the process
(except for the first time)...
# cd /usr/pkgsrc/x11/kde2
# make fetch-list > list2fetch.sh
# sh -x list2fetch.sh >& list2fetch.err
...and I get the following errors in file
list2fetch.err...
+ /bin/mkdir -p /usr/pkgsrc/distfiles/
+ /bin/mkdir -p /usr/pkgsrc/distfiles/ghostscript
+ cd /usr/pkgsrc/distfiles/

...and am wondering if this means that an install of KDE2
is a total no-go because, like one of the dependencies is
miss-spelled, has been moved, or has been removed from
the download sites? In other words: will I now not be
able to install KDE2 at all?, or may I acquire the file
lesstif-0.92.32.tar.gz somewhere else?

Gan
