I think I speak for everyone when I advise discretion against using FTP
and Telnet.

You can use SSH and SFTP instead.

$ man ssh
$ man sftp
$ man scp

If you happen to be stuck using a Windoze client, open source ssh client
at:

This is due to an ICMP message "service unavailable".  I.E., the service
is not listening in inetd.
