Interesting:

LTDL_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/X11R6/lib
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/X11R6/lib

What is setting this? I can't locate it. Is it required?

But it does allow it to startup, but ns-remote doesn't seem to be
able to locate any children running on :0.0 (display, etc. looks
right)
