Subject: system 1-2 second halts when using /dev/rfd0b

and no floppy is inserted. it tries to read it for some time but whole
system is completely halting for a moments..

is it system bug or my hardware is somewhat broken.

i have i440BX motherboard with broken on-chip/board FDD controller which
is disabled in BIOS and old ISA card with FDD inserted.

it reads, writes and formats floppies fine
