I got sound running fine in NetBSD, but the sound is very low and you can 
only hear it through external devices (headphones, speakers), not through the 
laptop's internal speakers (I think I heard a faint whisper of sound, but I 
had to put my ear right up to the speaker to do that.) It's an Ectiva 1938 
card. I checked the gain, and it's on 127, and there are no ouputs muted.
