Hello. Yes, that problem relates to Eterm. I had it here too until I
realized what it was. Use the following command either in your profile
or somewhere where it'll be executed automatically:

stty status ^O
(or some other control-key if ^O is in use)

Eterm is broken in a number of other respect as well--including a
nasty terminal emulation problem. Use xterm or something else until
they fix this junk.
