This happened from an NT on the same LAN...

>ftp
ftp> open starling
--> ftp connect:Connection refused

...I can ping "starling", so it's not that. So next
I look up ftpd via man and am confounded by a
zillion options and such. I made all the dirs and 
files. But there is still much which confuses.
Might there be perhaps a nice simple NetBSD-ish 
example/tutorial someplace? The examples in my other
expensive books are Solaris, HP-UX, etc.

It's way more fun to get something to just work in
a bare bones, minimalist way first...and then experiment 
one-by-one with various options.

(Yes, I know about SAMBA. Wanted to play with FTP first)
