Okay, sorry for my initial post, the person who reported this
behaviour was using a wrong device name, so there is actually no
problem and he could successfully install a ``NetBSD'' MBR on his
first hard disk.

Yup, you're right. Although I finally don't feel the need to do the
commit, you can do it if you want, since it's closer to TRT (beside
rewriting fdisk ;-)
