By reading the FAQ you'll probably gain the answer...

'What do I do with my old FreeBSD Counter registration?
Most of the records from the old FreeBSD Counter have been transfered over
to this new site'

Therefore FreeBSD has quite a lead. 

Also, I wont register on the site since it requires an email address and
I'm in more than enough spam databases without the risk of being in another
one.
