Interesting. The zero-length string was one of the first things I
tried on my an() card. It generates a "MAC initialization error".

It is interesting that both the wi() and an() cards are based on the
same prismII chipset. I guess we are seeing another firmware-induced
difference.

It is still a mystery to me much of what my an() card is doing.
Things seem to work differently after a reboot and an interface change
via ifconfig.

For one thing, I'm still afraid to allow an0 to be an "internal"
interface without the full firewall rules active. Nowhere can I find
any assurances that only WEP packets will be accepted when WEP is
active. (I was hoping that automated daily WEP key changes would
allow me to NFS mount home directories.)
