same for me here, but I got a tip from the KDE-milinglist to do:

export USER_LDFLAGS="-L/usr/lib -lgcc"

before compiling.

I do not know what this will do but I tried a

setenv "USER_LDFLAGS=-L/usr/lib -lgcc"

since I use csh and not bash. Acctually
my computer is compiling the stuff right now (at home), so I don't know
if it will work yet...
