Yah, I never did resolve my random MAC address problem (*).  I just popped
a Kingston card in and everything worked just fine.

(*) My 3C509C would boot with a MAC address composed of a trio of couplets
where the couplets were randomly 00:00 or ad:ad.  When it was all zeroes
the card would not communicate at all.
