what a problem to plug 20 IDE disks on 5 4-channel controllers? :)
Don't laugh. I did it and we have a machine with a butt load of space.
We used Promise Ultra/100 cards and we have 17 disks on 5 4-channel ide
controllers.
Oh, yes, my tests show we get on average 20Mbytes/second of throughput on
reads. this is pretty good considering we're running the disks at UDma
mode(1)
