I thought of that based on what I had read about the sharing not being allowed. I posted the dmsg output
in my original message, if you want it again shout. I had already checked for conflicts:

"In my case it is complaining about IRQ 11 which is my first 2940UW, and from
what I can tell from the output below is the only item on IRQ 11. "

I guess the kernel found something else (that was not detected by 1.3.3)
on irq 11.
Could you post what devices the kernel tells it find on irq 11 ?
