I have a 3Com AirConnect (wi) card that I'd like to get working in my
notebook (Toshiba Portege 3440CT w/ docking station). The machine has two
pcmcia/cardbus slots, the docking statino has another one. When I boot the
machine in the dock, the kernel fails to read the MAC address when I
insert it in any of the slots in the notebook:

wi0 at pcmcia2 function 0: could not get mac address, attach failed

but it works (at least finds the MAC...) when I put it into the docking
station's slot:

   wi0 at pcmcia0 function 0
   wi0: address 00:50:da:01:5d:8a

If I boot the machine w/o the dock, the card is not recognized at all in
the upper slot (i.e. no output when inserting the card, none when pulling
it out), and the MAC address can't be read when putting the card in the
lower slot of the notebook, see "could not get mac address" above.

dmesg (boot) and kernel output wen inserting the card in any slot for both
docked and undocked boots are available at http://www.feyrer.de/Misc/wi/.
I'd appreciate it if someone could give me a hand here, I have no clue
about the issues involved here.

FWIW, the kernel has all PCIBIOS options (except PCIBIOS_IRQS_HINT) on.
It's available in the above URL too (called 'NOON').

Thanks!
