Can someone well-schooled in the x86 innards please take a look at the above
named PR for me and get me some feedback or commit it if they feel it is OK?? 

Also, could the people with Sony Vaios that were experiencing PNPBIOS-related
reboots also try and back out rev 1.16 of pnpbios.c after applying the patch
in the PR and tell me if their Vaios still lose in the PNPBIOS code somewhere?
