It was PCI ones I had problems with.  The problem seems to be
an interrupt problem under _high_ load.  I could never be
bothered to look closely enough to see it it was:
 realtek card
 motherboard
 NetBSD
and since the 3com worked....

I have no experience of Realtek ISA.
