Hello Andrew!

  AG> With 8MB (typical for a 486 with 8x30 pin SIMMs)...

So /that's/ where all the 1Mb x 8 bit SIMMs went! <grin>

AG> You wouldn't be able to run X...

I don't really want to, not on that machine anyway.

AG> I would think that a web server (perhaps 'thttpd'

I don't want a web server on there, although an FTP server
would be useful (looks like I'll have to add that network
card after all ;o)

AG> Anyway, sounds like you're going to be having some fun

I've been procrastinating a little bit about building this
machine, partly because of the cost. A friend has recently
offered me a machine that should do the job though. It will
most likely replace a machine I have here now that's due for
retirement. The new machine will be more flexible and
useful, and not take up much space. I think I've convinced
myself it's worth the time and effort.

AG> Let us (on the lists) know if you have some problems,

That's great to hear. I've wanted to come back to NetBSD for
a while - the help I'm receiving through this mailing list
makes that possible.

Regards,
Andy.
