Is it PCMCIA or CardBus?  CardBus will appear in 1.5, and support for
Intel cards with via either the fxp or tlp drivers (depending on the
card).

16-bit cards should be Xircom clones, and supported by the xi driver,
don't know off-hand if that's in any 1.4.x. Shouldn't be too hard to
port though.
