I recently bought a Toshiba Satellite and run 1.4.2 on it.
The power management seems to behave most of the time. One cannot use
"hibernate" because this is a Windoze controlled function on Toshibas.

Also the DSTN screen is a bit naff. I'd go for TFT if I had the time
and money...

Toshiba have a web site with information for NetBSD users (it is
"unofficial"). I haven't got the link to hand, but I believe it
is on the NetBSD/i386 homepage.

They provide an XF86Config file which is quite useful; 8-bit colour
was fine, but 15/16-bit modes seem to be a bit noisy. I'm still
working on this one. They also provide kernels for you to download.

The sound on this machine isn't supported in 1.4.x but I _think_ it
is in 1.5.
