The machine has 5 PCI slots and 1 AGP slot. All hardware is 
'PnP', so I'm not sure what type of conflicts could exist.

I can post the whole dmesg if someone thinks it would be useful,
but I can't see what it might tell in this case. Is there something
particular I should be looking for?
