I'm sitting here with an IBM Thinkpad 760ED that came to me with a
CD-ROM... but no floppy drive, and being unable to get NetBSD onto it
because of that lack is killing me (btw, why is assumed that machines
will have an extant and operable floppy drive? becoming less and less
true these days...). It is the only i386 machine I have around, so I
can't do the following (fairly simple) task myself.

I would be really thrilled if some kind soul from this list would
build and send my way (email it, put it up for anon ftp, on a
webserver, whatever) a GENERIC kernel with the following line in it
(obviously, has to be in the appropriate place):

config netbsd root on ? type nfs

I'm not picky about what version kernel (though I did stick the
files from the 20000527 snapshot on my NFS server, so having a kernel
that vaguely matches that--1.4Z, unless I'm mistaken--would be nice...
and the least, it ought to be a development 1.4 kernel as opposed to a
1.5_ALPHA one).

(Oh, and if having that and dosboot.com is somehow not enough to
netboot the machine--I have a nfs/tftp server handy already on a
macppc box--and install on the local HD, smacking me with a cluebat
would also be appreciated.)

Please at least Cc responses to this email address, as I'm not
subscribed to port-i386.

Thanks...
