For me it is an advantage to have enough of the keymap
in the kernel to be able to work in single user mode or
with early DDB easily (using the PCKBD_LAYOUT kernel option,
see pckbd(4)).
Granted, it would be better to have kernel configuration options
to control which keymaps are built in, but it is not _that_ much
table space a keymap needs, so this isn't a high-priority project.

I always wanted to set up a directory in /usr/share for
loadable keymaps (eg for less usual mappings), but forgot
it more or less.

Thanks for the spanish keymap, I've just added it to the kernel.
(I don't expect problems, but in case: I'll be away until
tuesday night.)

best regards
