You could change 3072 to something bigger in INSTALL and ramdisk/Makefile:42,
say 3600, and add eg

bootfloppy:\
        :ty=floppy:se#512:nt#2:rm#300:ns#18:nc#100:\
        :pa#3600:oa#0:ba#4096:fa#512:ta=4.2BSD:\
        :pb#3600:ob#0:\         <= does it make sense for b to overlap?
        :pc#3600:oc#0:                cf floppy3 entry

/etc/disktab and set DISKTYPE=bigfloppy in said ramdisk/Makefile.
