Yes, it's in the package collection and works fine for me (Just tried
it oni386).
Though I prefer xmcd for various reasons...

On a NetBSD standard installation only members of the group "operator"
have read access to /dev/cd* (i.e. cdrom) devices. Are "you" member of
that group?
