For me, the Tekram 390 U2W (Symbios 53C895-chip (?)) does not work
very well - at least not on the LVD bus, and at least not with
-current from Dec 22. It seems to work OK with FreeBSD 3.3, if you
use the sym-driver that's available at
  http://www.tux.org/pub/people/gerard-roudier/drivers/freebsd/experimental/
I wonder if its portable ...

What's the problem with the Symbios stuff - is it "the chips are crap"
(why?) or "the NetBSD driver isn't prefected yet"?

It's a pity the Qlogics are hard to come by, and three times as
expensive as the corresponding Tekram. (... yes, yes, I hear you, "One
gets what one pays for.", :-) and yes, I have a Ql on order - 5 weeks
delivery time in this Godforsaken country! :-( )
