The 3c509 is recognized on 0x300 irq 10.  There is no soundcard, and no
hardware conflicts when running RH6.0.  Besides, if it were a hardware
conflict would rebooting routinely clear it?

I agree that LILO should have nothing to do with it, but right now the
sequence seems to be: LILO default boot to linux (network up), reboot
to 1.4.1 (network down), reboot to 1.4.1 (network up).  Odd.
