1) edit /etc/rc.conf, at the end set wscons to YES.
2) edit /etc/ttys and turn on ttyE1,2,and 3. If you want more virtual terms
you can add more here, and you need to edit /etc/wscons.conf to match
4) if you don't want to reboot: sh /etc/rc.wscons and then 'kill -1 1.
you can now switch from a VT to another with Ctrl+Alt+Fx (beware it's
not like linux here: you need Ctrl+Alt, not just Alt).
