It's an X or XFree86 error.  xsrc/xc/programs/Xserver/Xext/shm.c tests
shmget() [create] and shmctl() [remove]
So questions:
* what version of X/XFree86?
* did the kernel get built properly: compile/FOOBAR/Makefile will have
  "OBJS=  .....
          ..... sysv_ipc.o sysv_msg.o sysv_sem.o sysv_shm.o ...."
  and those objects should be in the compile/FOOBAR dir.
