You can *NOT* use '-O3 -march=i686' to compile the boot loader.  ;-)

Or at least, when I did, I got many many read errors, even just using it as
a floppy.  *sigh*.  I suppose that's "obvious".  ;-)

Of course, now the new boot blocks still have the "wd11a" booting problem
on the ThinkPad.  *sigh*.
