Mostly excellent, but my ne2000 PCMCIA card hangs the system if it's in
during boot; I get the MAC address off it, and then the system hangs.

Anything obvious to try at this point?  (Of course, I would try running
-current on a box that has to come with me on a trip on Sunday.)

I believe I was able to boot with a Megahertz ethernet card in, but it's
that !*@#! X-jack connector, and the wires are bent.
