I'm starting to suspect that I'm just Not Allowed to use wd0d for anything,
am I? No matter what disklabel shows for it, it always looks like it's
giving me "the raw disk".

*sigh*. Any chance of going to a 16-entry partition table? /, /usr, /var,
/usr/src, /home, swap, 'the whole disk', 'the other whole disk', and you're
out of partitions. I guess it's time to migrate everything from /var into
/usr and fold them, but I don't like to do that. :(
