There were some comments in a recent core-digest that someone had a driver
that was getting close to usable, but there were some issues with the
license the author had used...  I can't pull the exact message because
the mail-index of core-digest doesn't have anything newer than August 21.

I'm really hoping that someone gets a driver written soon (unfortunately,
it's beyond my skill level at the moment), as I've got a lovely new
PentiumIII/500 box running off an old slow 1GB IDE drive, with a nice
fast 9GB scsi drive sitting dormant behind the driverless 2940U2...
