I don't think so; in particular, once I applied the new CardBus patches,
the system probed the drive just beautifully.

Of course, with those, my system hangs if I have any cards in.  Argh.

Anyway, I got pointed at some CardBus support patches, and they mostly
seem to fix the problem.
