I use a AST isa card under -current with no problems:

ast0 at isa0 port 0x1a0-0x1bf irq 3
com1 at ast0 slave 0: ns16550a, working fifo
com2 at ast0 slave 1: ns16550a, working fifo
com3 at ast0 slave 2: ns16550a, working fifo
com4 at ast0 slave 3: ns16550a, working fifo

It serves a modem, a pilot and a serial terminal.
