I know that SLIP has been run directly on the h/w, but now that you mention
it, they guy I know who ran PPP over IR did it on top of a serial port
emulation placed on top of the IrDA stack in W95 (IrComm).  And yes the
IrDA protocol did handle the data flow.

But adopting an open standard like Ir-OBEX is a step in the right direction.

If loose tooth is to survive, it'll have to become open.
