Being able to look at the mail archive one message at a time is
better than nothing, but lacking any ability to search the content,
we need to be able to download an entire MONTH's worth of
messages.  There are SO many times I need to refer to previous
answers, and just cannot find them!  I need to be able to grep
thru the entire month's or year's worth of messages at once!

I think that the amount of repeat questions would decrease.  This
would leave MORE time for the experienced users to do work, fixing
and extending the product, instead of answering the same questions
over and over and over!

It would be easy!  Just concat each new message to a monthly file.
I had set this up and had archived the entire mail list from the
beginning of this year!  It was very useful.  Unfortunately the
machine had to go away for another use, or I would have made it
publically accessible.
