I wanted 64M swap so I asked it to give me total-64M for /
and when it said I had 65M left I told it to give me 65M for swap.
It never even asked about /usr

All in all the install worked _exactly_ as I wanted:

1/	It left my existing partition table as is.
2/	Updated the NetBSD partition id without mucking up
	anything else.
3/	Allowed me to create just / and swap.

The only concern - as I noted was that at a couple of critical points
it was impossible to see/review any errors that may have occurred so
to a large extent I was flying blind.
