Just for the record, your patch did work for me too. I am the
originator of pr 6488, so my configuration is documented :)

Maybe Jason can have a look at your little patch if it is the right
thing (tm), then it should be commited and pulled up for 1.4.

If none steps up to do this I will commit and request the pullup.
