>Synopsis: 10baseT/UTP Drivers not installed for SMC8216C
>Release: 1.3.3 NetBSD 1.3.3 (GENERIC) #0: Fri Dec 11 16:21:49 PST 1998
>Description:
Installation proceedure correctly recognises SMC8216C card, but
autodetects connection type as 10base2/BNC. Actual connection to this
card is 10baseT/UTP - but this is not accepted if entered during
installation.

After installation, machine can be forced to use 10base5/AUI interface
by making appropriate entry in /etc/ifconfig.we1 - but still doesn't
have 10baseT/UTP interface capability.

Can a later/different SMC driver be retrofitted?

Note - this machine can be booted to use RedHat Linux OK - detects
smc-ultra-c 10/310 (instead of 10/300).
