Hi all,
I wrote the list earlier with probs that a friend is having with a new
install. He originally tried putting 1.3.2 on his system (don't ask me why
he didn't use 1.3.3). His problem was basically that any ethernet traffic
gave him a page fault trap. Only one person responded, & their suggestion
was to try going -current.

Well, we installed a -current base & kern, & now the system tells us that
ttyv isn't configured (just before we get a prompt)
Well, I had him boot off the 1.3.2 boot floppy he has, & mount the wd0a at
/mnt...cd into /mnt/dev, & try a ./MAKEDEV ttyv0.

Still gives the same error...ttyv0 is visible in the "ls tty*" list. I'm
trying to help him using "talk" & am not at console...

He's got a very generic motherboard with an AMD processor (motherboard PC100?)

A lot of the dmesg went from not configured to being more helpful in the
transition from 1.3.2 to -current, so I'm assuming that someone was working
on some support for his MB. Here's parts of the older dmesg (1.3.2) (he'd
